ANDY ALTMAN, Managing principal
Andy was most recently CEO of the Olympic Park Legacy Company in London where he led the transformation of the 500-acre London 2012 Olympic Park - the largest regeneration project in the United Kingdom. Andy first established himself as an internationally recognized urban planner as the Director of Washington, DC's Office of Planning where he created and directed the Anacostia Waterfront Initiative that resulted in the complete transformation of Washington's waterfront.
RON KAPLAN, principal
Ron was formerly Chief Investment Officer for ten years at Federal Realty Investment Trust and was instrumental in creating their pedestrian oriented retail division responsible for Santana Row, Bethesda Row, and Pentagon Row. He has been involved in some of the most high profile real estate developments in the DC area in recent years including the $1 billion mixed-use redevelopment of the former DC Convention Center site and the redevelopment of the Southwest Waterfront corridor.
PAUL SOWTER, SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT
Paul was most recently Senior Vice President of Development as the head of design and construction for all of Vornado/Charles E. Smith’s development projects. Prior to joining Vornado in April 2003, he spent fifteen years at The Kaempfer Company, a development firm specializing in trophy projects in the D.C. and metropolitan area. As partner and Executive Vice President of the firm he oversaw design and construction for all projects. Throughout his career, Paul has overseen over fifteen million square feet of Class A base building office and residential construction and associated interior and tenant work. He has a B.S in Civil Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park.
Fivesquares Development is Whitman-Walker's development partner for their site located on one of the last remaining large development parcels on DC's 14th Street Corridor. The project will house a mix of uses in its developable envelope of over 160,000 square feet. The project received unanimous approval from the DC Historic Preservation Review Board on June 2, 2016.
Fivesquares has been designated by WMATA to develop a Transit Oriented Development community on five acres located at the Grosvenor Metro Station.
Located in Logan Circle at the corner of 11th and M Streets NW, 10Eleven is a condominium project with 71 units, a rooftop terrace, and 4,200 square feet of ground floor retail. Each facade has been designed to complement the surrounding buildings in the Historic District. Delivered 2017.
